Sheldon's on a ROLL

First Sheldon runner up'd in Top Dragster at the Div 7 race in Sonoma on July 24, then he WON it the next weekend July 31, at the Nat race in Sonoma in Top Dragster.  Way to go Sheldon.
This makes 5 finals in 6 Top Dragsters races, winning 3 of them, 2 wins in IHRA, 2 runner up's and one win in NHRA.  And just think, he didn't think he could run in Top Dragster...Tom kind of forced him to go to the IHRA race in Tucson which he won and well the rest is history.

Monday's 1-31-2011 update

Not much to update. It's looking like Karen is going to have a celebration of LIFE for Eddie in April, she is still working on all the details. This weekend at Speedworld is was a sad race, lots of tears for Eddie and lots of good stories too.

I'd like to do something special for Karen and the kids and I need your help.

If you have any photo's, I'm really hoping for some older ones and some of Eddie when he is not in the race car. If you can scan them and e-mail them to me at info@tyrc.com or bring them to the Div 7 race at Firebird in Feb so I can scan them and give them back.

We are no longer carrying Turbo Start battery, instead we are offering a 16 volt dry cell one from LIFELINE, some other shops sell it under the name of the rock. This battery is made 100% in the USA, the ones we carry are top post mount, but we can get side mount and a 12 volt is available.

Next is HANS Device, we are in the approval stage of being a west cost suppliers for them. They tell me that they are going to be some changes coming after December for the sportsman racers. I don't have any more info than that right now. So please keep us in mind if you should need to buy one.

Bakersfield update

Well for Tom and Ross the Div race and make up race from Firebird didn't go so well. I heard there was close to 400 racers, it was nice to see so many cars at the track. We had several customers and friends go many rounds. This year was some of the BEST weather I've seen at the track, and the track did a great job with bug control this year. On our way home Tom made a commit that this is the first year in many that there were NO crashes at Bakersfield, they had a few oil downs, but no one lost a car and no one was hurt. That in its self is great. Well hope to see you at the Div race in Vegas next month.

Well Tom and Ross did well in Indy, Ross went 5 rounds, and Tom 4. Not to bad. They even took Hayden, Ross's 4yr son, and Ross's Dad Mike flew in to spend the weekend, so it was a Boys week at Indy. From what they told us Hayden had a blast, but was not to happy about the long ride back home.

Next up is Bakersfield Div this weekend. Looks like we are all going even Harley. Harley and I have not been to a race sence Vegas, just hope its not to hot. So hope to see all our Div 7 racing friends at Bakersfield.

OFF TO SONOMA

Well, Tom and Ross will be at Sonoma this year, Harley and I are staying behind. I had hoped to be able to go but things came up that need me to stay home. So when you see Tom remind him to give me a call. Also stop by his pit and check out the new Dragster of his, let me know what you think of the paint job, and his helmet. Also ask about the new belly pans we are selling, he was one on his new dragster and some spars in the trailer for sale. They are also taking Chuck Phelps front suspension dragster with them, Chuck will be there for the Div race, but they will have it out for you to look at.
Well everyone have fun, hope to see you at Bakersfield Div.

FRONT SUSPENSION SYSTEM

Yes, Tom Yancer Race Cars has done it again!.

Here at TYRC we keep trying to invent, tweak, or make new products that will help the racer. We have been working on a front suspension system for a few years now. With the help of one of our customers Chuck Phelps from here in town. Chuck has been our test pilot over the years.

This new system can be retrofitted on to almost any dragster (sportsman type) out there now.

Chuck has log allot of runs with the new system, he has seen better reaction times, few red light, as to the front end not popping up. The drive is smoother, and with the front wheels staying in the beams the 60 foot times are more consistent.

Chuck was also awarded the BEST ENGINEERED award at the Las Vegas Div 7 race back in April of this year.
